What is your policy regarding privacy of health information?
Per HIPPA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996) regulations, ALL patient health information is retained as private and will not be released without the patient's express and written permission.
As a meditation participant in any AcuShén session, it is explicit that you are attending for the purpose of experiencing a guided meditation that integrates acupuncture as an adjunct therapy—not as an individual, private, diagnostic medical treatment. Therefore at the beginning of an 8-week AcuShén session we will learn each others names.*
Additionally, you are free to share any information about yourself with other participants during brief 10-minute open discussions that may occur at each gathering. However, this is to be done at your own discretion—taking full personal responsibility for any information you choose to share with the group.
* If you do not wish to share your name with the group, please let your AcuShén practitioner know this before attending and a moniker will be created at your choosing.
